Deepika Padukone


Deepika Padukone (born January 5, 1986) is an Indian model turned actress. She is the daughter of former badminton champion Prakash Padukone. Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, at eleven months old she moved to Mangalore, Karnataka when her family returned to India.She was a member of the badminton club run by her father.Because she is so tall (5 foot 9 inches) she decided to get into modelling. She has been modeling for advertising Liril soap, Dabur Lal powder Close-Up toothpaste and Limca, receiving many prestigious modelling offers, including brand ambassadorship of the Jewels of India, an annual jewellery exhibition. She hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international covergirl face.
